From 1980 until 1983, Sacramento radio station KXPR produced a weekly half-hour arts and public affairs magazine, Sacramento Spectrum. In 1981, Sacramento Spectrum won a Corporation for Public Broadcasting award for best Arts & Humanities coverage. In 1983, the program was cancelled so station resources could be used to present National Public Radio's daily Morning Edition program to the Sacramento market. Here is an air check of a story produced by Sacramento Spectrum's editor, Mark Jones.
